Preschool's visit to the local train station..

Pre-School had a lovely visit to the local train station this week. On the way we looked out and took a keen interest in finding various numerals in the environment....

We all walked very sensibly on our way to and from the train station holding onto an adults hand....

We looked closely at numerals in the environment.
Ellie Mai read out the numbers she could see on a local sign to her friends....

We waited nicely for a train to arrive singing songs and practicing our counting ...

The train arrived at 10.15 am we took a clock with us so we could see the time....

When we arrived back at nursery we made our own timetables drawing numbers and making our own marks on the paper....

'We want to be challenge

We had lots of fun taking part in our 'We want to be challenge 2014' to raise money for Save the Children. Our children had the opportunity to spend the day at nursery dressed up as what the would like to be when they grow up. We had many occupations from Doctors and firemen to Rock Stars, Princesses and superheroes. As well as the children dressing up we had many visitors into nursery such as a Dentist, Lollypop Lady, a Milkman and a lady from the RNLI, the children listened well and learnt a lot about the different jobs these people do..

We had a visit from our school lollipop lady Shirley. We learnt all about road safety and how to stay safe crossing the road...

Wiktoria would like to be a ballerina when she grows up....

Tia Marie told us she wanted to be a rock star when she grows up and play a real guitar....

Katelyn and Phoebe enjoyed being doctors for the day, they did a very good job at making their 'poorly' friends feel better...

We had a visit from a lady from the RNLI . We all listened really well learning how the volunteers at the RNLI keep us safe and help us when we are in trouble...

we even got to try the uniform on that the volunteers wear to go in their boat, it was very heavy..
Our teachers even joined in the fun, we timed Charlotte putting her suit on....it took her a long time...

' I want to be a cheerleader when i grow up do lots of dancing' Safiya tells her friends...
We had a visit from a local dentist. We learnt the importance of brushing our teeth twice a day for 2 minutes. We alleven got to take a two minute timer home with us
'If you don't brush your teeth they will fall out' Remy says.

Joseph and Finley count the teeth together...

Fun at the park

Some of our pre-school children enjoyed a lovely visit to the park. We all took our fruit and milk for a picnic and enjoyed a healthy snack. The children enjoyed climbing the climbing equipment, sliding down the slides and sharing the saw saw developing their physical skills and turn taking.....

'Are you dizzy yet?' Remy asks.
Chloey climbs the ropes and rocks on the park using alternate feet.
'Watch me, i can do it on my own' Ellie Mae shouts to an adult while climbing the equipment.
The children play co-cooperatively on the see-saw to make it move backwards and forwards.
The children were very excited when they found a ladybird. 'Its got 1,2,3,4,5 spots' Remy says counting the spots on its body.

Matching Numerals and quantity

We have been learning and working on recognizing our numerals and counting this week. We all had lots of fun taking part in a maths counting the pom poms and matching the number of pom poms to the correct numeral.... we all did really well!
